Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC), the leading international summit on cities and smart urban solutions organized by Fira de Barcelona will hold on November 17-18 an innovative edition under the name Smart City Live. The urban summit will present a new two-day format aimed at providing the best possible urban knowledge platform in and for the Covid19 pandemic context.
The new Smart City Live will gather the leading actors, institutions and international experts on smart cities in a new virtual and interactive format comprising two different blocks including a full-day live television show broadcasted on November 17 through the event’s website and social media, and second day program featuring online workshops and side events.
SCEWC’s director, Ugo Valenti, said that “our main goal this year is to provide a platform to reconnect and rebuild ecosystems and accelerate recovery of urban ecosystems, with a new model that allows us, through the digital medium, to connect and reach every actor in our industry. The current situation will undoubtedly leave its mark on cities and the way they function, but it will do it for good, helping us to build metropolises capable of better delivering the services and resources its inhabitants need and ready to respond to new threats. Smart City Live is our contribution to this collective effort.”
The live television program held on November17 will focus on the global impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, how it has affected cities in particular and how metropolises are redefining themselves to adapt to this new scenario. Through interviews, debates, reports and success stories, Smart City Live will address the recent changes in mobility, consumption and services, among other topics.
On November 18, the event will bring together key players and global institutions to discuss through digital workshops and roundtables the key challenges that cities are facing beyond the short-term context arisen by the pandemic
New 365-day platform
Aditionally, SCEWC will also launch of Tomorrow.City, a new platform designed to offer companies and public administrations resources that combine research, technology, and investment throughout the year. With a multi-stakeholder approach and through collaborative intelligence, it aims to accelerate sustainable and inclusive cities for all and will run through four different fields of actions focusing on data, knowledge, business and awareness.
SCEWC will be back in 2021 in its full format and it will be jointly held with Smart Mobility Congress and Retail & Brand Experience World Congress from November 16 to 18 at Firta de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue.
